Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro has clarified exactly why his superstar striker Cristiano Ronaldo will have to miss the AFC Champions League group stage 4th round game against Al-Duhail, this Tuesday.
“Journalists should respect me as I respect them. I did not say that Ronaldo does not have the capabilities to play, and I did not rule him out of this match.” he said in the press conference.
He added: “Ronaldo played 48 hours ago, and in a match before that he participated and the confrontation extended to extra time. Therefore, his physical capabilities are what do not allow him to participate against Al-Duhail, and I am not the one who decided to exclude him.”
He continued: “Cristiano did not participate with us in many matches. This is not the first time he has been absent from the team. I know that people want to see Ronaldo in the matches, but Al-Nassr has a group of stars such as Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozovic and others.”
