Riyad Mahrez, the star of Al-Ahly Jeddah, praised the distinguished and wonderful support of the “Al-Raqi” fans for the team, stressing that the Saudi League is still long, and progress is being made step by step.

The Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez, led Al-Ahly to get back to the 2nd place of the Saudi League ranking, after defeating Al-Taei (2-0), Tuesday, at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, in the fourth round of the Roshn Professional League.

Mahrez stated through the microphones of “Action with Walid” program: “The fans are wonderful, and we are happy with what Al-Ahly fans are doing with us, and their need, and when they support us in this way, we are then 12 players.”

The 32-year-old added: “It is too early to talk about the title, and the journey is still long, and we are progressing in it step by step, dealing with each match separately, and God willing, we will win the next match, and we will see where we reach.”

With this victory, Al-Ahly climb to the runner-up position in the standing, with 12 points, equal to Al-Ittihad, leading by goal difference, while Al-Taei’s balance was frozen at 3 points in 14th place.
