Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino has broken the silence over the future of club midfielder Conor Gallagher, amid reported contract renewal talks with the England international.
Actually, Gallagher is said to be targeted by Steven Gerrard, who wants to bring him to the Saudi Dammam-based club Al-Ettifaq.
“In all my career as a coach is first to see how they feel, in that case, the player, the club and the intentions from one or another side.” Pochettino said.
He added: “Then, it is like when you talk about my wife, it is about matching and feeling good together, and in that case it is like a marriage between the player and club.“
He continued: “Both sides need to feel good and that is why in this moment you can arrive at a new deal, even if you want to extend the contract, you stop and speak.”
He concluded: “Of course, he is a player that is doing fantastic and he is an amazing player. We are so happy with how he is doing the things.”
