Al-Hilal star defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been sacrificed of the AFC Champions League knock-out stages games against the Iranian club Sepahan.

This was due to the fact that his club coach Jorge Jesus can only choose 5 foreigner players in the continental tournament, and the availability of a top center-back like Hassan Tambakti who can secure the spot in his absence.

But the latter’s injury has changed the plans of the Portuguese gaffer, which has costed Yassine Bono the place, most notably with the return of the goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais.

Koulibaly will now reportedly make his return to this competition from the quarter-finals stage, this Tuesday, against Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Clasico.
