Al-Ahli are reportedly discussing with Atletico Madrid over a potential transaction trading Gabri Veiga for Pablo Barrios.

Both players are making part of the best Spanish young talents, but even though Veiga might be a slightly more renowned name than Barrios, The Greens could still benefit from such operation.

Al-Ahli have both Roberto Firmino and Gabri Veiga performing well behind the striker, but neither of them was able to play as good in other spots other than the offensive midfield.

The club would have to sacrifice one of them, and with the stellar displays of Firmino, the Spanish could be the one to be sold, most notably because he is easier to find a buyer for, unlike the Brazilian, who has a big salary and no one could pay him anywhere near his current wages.

Other than that Barrios is born in 2003, which means that he would be counted with the 2 extra foreigner players allowed, unlike the case of Veiga, so with such transfer, the team would have the chance to another outlander in another position.
