Al-Ahli are reported to be looking to sign a new defensive midfielder at the end of the season to complete the double pivot with Franck Kessié, while Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios are two of the most realistic targets for The Greens.

If Al-Ahli decide to sign Partey from The Gunners, they would surely consider his record of injuries, that could deprive the team from his services.

For that, the signing of a 2003-born foreigner midfielder, like Barrios, could be a must, to make up for the potential absences of Partey if suffers a blow.

To be precise, the Saudi Professional League allows each club to count up to 8 outlanders, but teams would now have the chance to register 2 additional overseas players who are born after 2003, but could only select 8 in total for each game.
