Al-Ittihad sporting director Ramon Planes has previously shown interest on the services of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, whose situation is complicated within the club.
According to the latest news brought by Fichajes, Atletico are desperate to sell Niguez at the end of the season to get his high 7 million euros salary off the books, which leads the club to keep looking for a club who can pay his wages or even a significant part of them.
