Athletic Bilbao legend Iker Muniain has granted an exclusive interview to Marca, in which he has opened up on his future, confirming the Saudi Professional League as one of his potential next destinations.
“I said in that day that being able to play in the Spanish League and in Europe was completely discarded. I wanted to live an experience as different as possible to what I had already lived throughout my career. Within that market there are several Leagues that attract me. The MLS is also an interesting League. I have also followed a lot the Saudi Pro League, where we have Cristiano Ronaldo, who we all know as well as Leo Messi, the magnitude he has. I was very surprised by the Arabs’ passion for their teams, something I did not know and that is what has impacted me the most. How they have invested on football, the number of players who have played in Europe and who are world-class, who have gone to that league. It is another destination we contemplate.“
